L.A. County Deputy District Attorney Debbie Knaan is scheduled to teach a "Animal Cruelty Investigations" class on April 24, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. and on May 7, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. The class will be held at the Pasadena Humane Society, 361 S. Raymond Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91105.
Debbie Knaan supervises the prosecution of animal cruelty and neglect cases filed in Los Angeles County. Her class will include the following:
- How to handle animal cruelty and neglect complaints.
- How to recognize a crime and what to look for.
- New laws that help uncover crimes that go beyond animal abuse or
neglect, such as elder abuse, child abuse and domestic violence. - How to prepare an effective crime report.
- How to put a solid case together for a successful prosecution.
